Christmas Present Tags

It's beginning to look like Christmas at our house.  The boys went camping, so I have had lots of time to clean house, cook, nap and scrap!

All files were purchased from the Silhouette Library and I used the print and cut feature to make these projects easier.  No dry embossing, shock I know!  I did use some Stickles to glam them up a bit.

Thanks for looking!  Have a great weekend!

Thank You Card

I made this thank you card for my daughter's friend...well, actually her mom.  They invited my daughter to go to Princess Disney on Ice.  My daughter was so excited!  She got to go home with her friend from school and spend the night after the show...doesn't get better than that, huh?

My daughter is going to write a her a thank you note for her generosity.

All the files were purchased from the Silhouette store.  My daughter flocked the snow person.  I used a brown Copic marker to create the brown post and the stick arms.  We also embossed a snowflake on the inside of the card and dry embossed the white snow on the front of the card.

Stay warm everyone!  I hear 70% of the U.S. is covered in snow.  Hope we get enough to make a snow person in real life this year.

True Love Was Born in a Stable

Seems like everyone is in the Christmas Spirit and I am still in the mood for Thanksgiving.  I googled images for Christmas mantels and came across this phrase..."True Love was born in a stable".  I love it!  I set off for a shopping trip early this morning with the intentions of not spending very much money and was pleasentaly surprised at what all I found on sale at Michaels.  I had a hard time finding an item for my 50% off coupon.

I purchased the burlap, silver ribbon, chalkboard pick, and deer from Michaels.  I was surprised the deer was less than $10 on sale!

On to the scrapbooking part of this project...

I used school/chalkboard paper from Hobby Lobby (already had it on hand) and Silhouette white premium vinyl to cut the phrase with my Silhouette Cameo.  I was going to cut out "Merry Christmas" and put that on the chalkboard pick, but thought it would be cool for the kids to use it to count down to Christmas using chalk every day to change the number of days.

I wanted this to be pretty and glam, yet also have a bit of natural too.  It is getting cold here this weekend...hopefully it continues to put me in the Christmas spirit.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Fall Initial

"S'' is our last initial.

I am loving digital paper.  My daughter woke me up early this morning, 6am!  What else to do other than craft.

I love these fall colors in this set.  Can't wait to find a place to hang it.

This paper was purchased on etsy from Little Panda Designs.

The shapes were purchased from the Silhouette Online Store.

Off to watch football!  Have a great weekend!

Get in the spirit!

Playing with digital paper from etsy tonight using Silhouette Studio software.  This digital paper is for Chicago Bears, but  I am using it for the Auburn Tigers, my alma mater, War Eagle!

I love the chevron paper, how cute is it?

The picture is from The Birmingham News, found on Bing.  I am afraid, I lost all my football pictures, totally my fault :-(

This would be so cute framed, or even printed out and mod podged on to a piece of wood.  However, I am low on ink and afraid I can not print this successfully tonight.  Shopping trip tomorrow!

Thanks for visiting my blog!!!  Happy weekend, and War Eagle to you Auburn fans!!!

Snowman

Hello!  I created this snowman from scratch tonight using the Silhouette Studio software.  I did not create the pattern paper, but I did add the big polka dots to the background paper.  I love creating my own images!  Once I was done creating the snowman, scarf and hat, I grouped the images and did an offset (which you see in gray).

I plan to use the snowman on the oval background for Christmas tags.  I will probably change the colors a bit to make it match my Christmas packages, but I thought these colors were cute since it is fall right now.

Thanks for visiting my blog!

My mother in law shared her midnight blooming plant with me and I am currently waiting on 5 blooms!  Can not wait to see it in person.  I'll share pictures when it finally blooms in a few days.

Happy weekend!

Crock Pot Recipe Book

Back side of tabs

Hello all!  Today I have a recipe book I made for my coworker.  I use my crock pot almost every work day...so the first thing we talk about in the morning is what is in the crock pot today.  She wanted me to share my recipes with her and I couldn't do that without making it a scrap project.

Her favorite colors are white and black (and red too).  I originally tried to use my craft knife to cut the slots in the page protectors for the tabs...but then I figured out it was easier to use my straight edge and cut it instead.

The tabs were purchased from the Silhouette Store and so was the pattern printed on them.  I lve the print and cut feature of the Silhouette.  It is so easy to use!

I hope she likes (and uses) this book. I added a few recipes I have not tried before.

Have a great weekend!

Bird Card Using the Silhouette Weld Feature

Echo Park bird with welded circles all around to maker her fluffy.  I used the same technique on the right side of the pattern paper to create a scallop edge.

Dry embossed the inside.

Matching envelope

Hi all!  Thanks for visiting on this beautiful "summer" weekend.  I feel fall in the air, hence the colors used for this card and matching envelope.

I will be submitting this in the Silhouette Blog Weekly Shape Challenge and Giveaway.

The challenge is to use the Silhouette Studio weld feature.  I used the weld feature on two items on my card.  The first is this cute Echo Park Bird.  I purchased the bird from the Silhouette Online Store, then I created circles all around the bird, once I had the correct shape, I welded all the circles together.  I cold have made the bird a different color then the welded circles, but I liked this little one all one color.

The envelope was also purchased from the Silhouette Store.  It can be found here.

I also used the print and cut feature - all the pattern paper used was printed using the fill option in Silhouette Studio.  I L♥VE this feature!

I bought and recently used a card from the Silhouette Store with scallops like the ones I used on this card.  I wanted to see if I could recreate the look on my own (and then this challenge came along).  I had taken a class at Jessica Sprague and she taught us how to create scallops with Photoshop so, I wanted to see how easy it would be using the Silhouette Software.  There may be an easier way to do it than the way I did it...I love learning new things with my Silhouette!

Thanks for visiting!  Good luck to everyone entering the challenge!

Birthday Gift

I found this cute little gift box at Michaels.  Since this gift was for a little girl, I had to thrown in some pink.

I added the polka dot flower to the front of the box to give it dimension.  The file for the flower was purchased from the Silhouette store.

The card and envelope are both Silhouette files as well.   I printed the black and white pattern paper using a pattern I purchased from the online store.  I love the layout of this card and use it often.  I like to create an internal offset for the inside of the envlope.  It makes it thicker {and prettier in my opinion}.  Hardly any project of mine gets completed without a little dry embossing.  I used a Sizzix folder in my Cuttlebug to emboss the white paper on the card.

I didn't know my daughter had made her a card already, so she got two from my daughter :-)

Condolences at time of sorrow card

I pulled out my Silhouette today and made a sympathy card.  I used the print and cut feature to add the sentiment on the front of the card as well as on the inside.  I embossed the front of the card then created the bling using ribbon and Bella Ribbon Bucklez (purchased at my local scrapbooking store).

I love making envelopes.  I love the way they feel, nice and thick (not cheap).  I did a little editing to the original envelop file using the basic Silhouette Software so I could create a mat on the inside of the envelop.

Daily Checklists for the kids

I made these simple checklists for the kids.  I want them to be more independent and they simply can not remember everything that must be done.  I pulled out my Your Story and laminated these so they can reuse them.  At first I was printing out a week's worth at a time, but that didn't work out so well.  I would forget to do it and when they needed them, I would be too busy to stop what I was doing to print them out for them.

I think this is going to work out just fine.  They can use dry erase markers on them and wipe them clean at the end of every day.

What do you do to keep your kids organized?

Address Label

How cute is this little bird?  While I was creating a flourish in Inkscape, I noticed one of the shapes I created could be used to create a bird.  While creating the bird, I learned how to create layers in Inkscape (very important to know).

The font is called "A Yummy Apology".

I love making my own address labels when I have something special to mail.  Now I need to learn how to create a cool frame for address labels.

Thanks for checking out my blog!

Another use for my flourish

I found another use for the flourish I made in Inkscape.  After I saved the image to my Silhouette library, I used it as a print and cut file.  This is a simple notecard.  I printed the image on white paper and used the offset feature to make the black border.

Also in this picture is my gardenia.  When I bought this gardenia an older gentleman told me it would not survive here...he recommended I plant it near my house.  Well, this plant is very happy here!  It is probably 11 years old and would be taller than our house if we did not keep it trimed.  It is in full bloom right now and smells GREAT!

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Flourish made with Inkscape

I have been interested in graphic design, but not sure how to get started besides enrolling in a college course, which I may do, if I can find some spare time.

I used a youtube video to help guide me on the process, but didn't copy his design (which was VERY beautiful).  Here is a link to the youtube video.  He makes it look so easy to make these swirly lines.  I struggled a bit, but stuck with it until I got the look I wanted.  I started the file last night and finished up this morning since I woke up extra early.  :-/

Once I created my flourish I saved it as a .png file, opened it in Silhouette Studio, traced it and cut it.  Sounds simple huh?  ha!  I had to go back to the original Inkscape file and make the lines thicker so I could get the flouish off the mat without ripping it.

Now I need to add it to my Silhouette library so I can use it in the future...I think this would look great on a layout.

Mother's Day Gift

I hope everyone has a wonderful Mother's Day!  This was a little gift I threw together at the last minute for my mom.  It took me about an hour to get it done.  Amazing what you can do when you are in a hurry huh?

All files were purchased from the Silhouette store.

The white flower is a new file and I am loving it.  It was easy to put together.  Next time I will dry emboss it.  I decided to cut the bottom layer a different color and to offset it instead of lining the petals up with the 3D petals.  To make the petals even more 3D, I put a piece of foam underneath each petal.

The playing cards shown in picture 2 were purchased from Sams online.  My mom wanted a set and sis said she needed 2.  The picture was taken shortly after my parents had gotten married (over 55 years ago).  Mom was so excited about the cards and had forgotten she asked for them...:-)

Hope you all have a great weekend!

Wow, what a deal!

Wow, I purchased this COMPLETE digital kit tonight because I liked a few of the papers.  This is a steal at 1.99...but you better hurry.  I think the sale is over Sunday at midnight.  My son who is 9 watched as I scrolled through all the files and he said it should have cost $20.00 for all the time it took for the files to be created.  haha, he makes me smile :-)  I have a link to the kit below.

Life of the Party Complete Kit

I wish Silhouette Studio made it simple to upload ALL the pattern paper at one time.  Right now, the only way I know to add these as "Patterns" is to Import them to my library...a little time consuming, but I have nothing else better to do right now.  If anyone knows of an easier way to upload a paper pack, I would love to know.  Thanks!

Happy Scrapping All!!!

Off to see Great Grandma

I made these cards for my son and daughter.  They are on the road right now with their grandparents.  My husband's grandmother is visiting from Thailand, so they are heading down to Orlando to see her.  They will get a card each day while they are away.  I did this for them because I know they will appreciate them.  They are my number one fans!!!  This will be the first time my kids will remember meeting their great grandmother.  They were just babies when she was here last time.

I made these in a hurry on Friday while the kids were at school.  Luckily it wasn't a half day :-)

I even made them a little bookmark to go with the new books I bought them for the trip.  His is a monster and hers is a panda (as you can see in the picture).

It has been a very busy week.  My son had a report to do on migrates and green rays, so all my free time went to either helping him or letting him use my computer.  I will be by to check out all your blogs later today, since I have free time now!!!

Happy Spring!

Hello Spring!  I recently found Miss Kate Cuttables and I am really enjoying the free daily files.  The free file today was this bunny, egg, flowers and green oval (grass).  I used some existing Silhouette files and a font already loaded onto my computer to finish out this project.  I will definitely be purchasing some files from this website and have already purchased some through the Silhouette Online Store.

Happy Scrapping!

Love is patient, love is kind, memory verse -Airplane Style

Love is paitent, love is kind...perfect memory verse for this project.  My son is very smart, but can be unmotivated when it comes to school :-(.  After printing out the weekly newsletter and deciding how to tackle the weekly tasks, this was a no brainer to me.  My son loves airplanes and wants to be a pilot one day.  This verse should be easy to learn in bits and pieces, something he can do on his own.  4th grade is a lot tougher than 1st grade and I often forget to go over bible verse and spelling words with my daughter, who is in the first grade.  I'm sure I will have to make one for her, both love my scrappy projects.  Sweet kids they are!!!

Happy BIrthday Mom!

We are celebrating my Mom's Birthday today.  I'm excited, it's been a while since I have seen my family, as I was sick Thanksgiving and Christmas.

I purchased all the files from the Silhouette store.  The flower is actually a pinwheel...it looks like a flower doesn't it?  I used thick kraft paper to make the boxes sturdy, then covered them in patterned paper.  The paper is Colorbok, purchased at Wal-Mart.  The blue tin was purchased at the dollar store, how cute is it???

Camping - Project Life Cards

I am having so much fun playing with Project Life these days.  Little by little, I am getting through the pictures I have printed of the kids.  All of these files were purchased from the Silhouette Store.  I used the print and cut feature.  The pattern paper used in the girl card is digi Echo Park, purchased from Jessica Sprague's website.  Let me know if you have any questions.  :-)

Boy and His Dog

This was my inspiration today.  Created in Silhouette Studio.

Thank you card using Digi Paper and Silhouette

Echo Park and Silhouette, does it get any better?

Digi Paper:  Echo Park Sweetday from Jessica Sprague's website
Silhouette File:  Artisan Shape Card and 5-Card Kit Elegant Envelope

I recently sold a few of my Cricut Carts to some local ladies.  I had a lot left over and I gifted them to a friend who was purchasing 4 carts from me.  She purchased her Cricut Expression within the last month or so.  She was only expecting to get 6 carts from me.  In appreciation, she sent me a gift card to Micheals.  How sweet is she???

I am sending her a note to thank her for her generosity.  Sometimes I give things away and don't even get an acknowledgment. :-(

All the printed paper is from the Echo Park Sweetday digital paper pack.  I purchased the pack from the Jessica Sprague website.  To make it easy to label, I added a layer of white and adjusted the transparency.  Then I added some rectangle boxes so I could type in our addressess.

Originally I had created another card, it was all digi using a lot of the patterns in this pack, but it just didn't look nice.

Happy Scrapping!

Valentine's

Valentine treats for boys and girls!  The boys are getting Now 'n Laters and the girls are getting gumballs.  How cute are these gumballs?

Frog Valentine

Frog Valentine Bag Toppers

These cute little frogs can be found in the Silhouette Store.  I added "Hoppy Valentine's Day" to the heart he is holding.  The original file only had little black circles for the eyes.  I created my own eyes by making a white circle, then doing an internal offset to create the black pupil.  This makes the eyes easy to print and cut.   To create the mouth, I increased the line thickness in the original file so I could use the print and cut feature (again).  The bag topper was also purchased from the Silhouette Store - it had 2 owls on a branch but I didn't think the love birds were appropriate for my daughter to take to school.  I'm off to work on some girl Valentine's.

Birdie Notebook

Front of Bird Notebook

Removable bird bookmark resting on transparency

Divider and back of bird bookmark

Here is a $1.00 notebook I purchased from Michaels.  I took all the pages out and cut the binding so I could make this a spiral notebook.  Using scrapbook paper, I covered the front and back covers.  Inside I added a transparency page for fun and a divider.  The yellow and white polka dot bird is a bookmark.
